For the series Past utopia I was inspired by the colourfulness of panelaks in Bratislava. Prefabricated panelaks are concrete high-rise residence units that were cheaply constructed and rapidly assembled to solve a post-World War II housing crisis in Central Europe. For me, it is interesting, how they appear nowadays. Trying to be friendly and tempting with adding colours, graphic elements and patterns to them. This mass of buildings is like a city within a city that brought a smile on my face every time I was surrounded by it in a foreign land. It was the strongest reminder of my hometown when staying abroad.
